hester ......
as i looked out at all the people i never knew that i could be the center of attention in this small town in massachustes. as all those eyes looked at me i felt like the pain coulnt go away and theyd be stairing at me for the rest of my life. the scaffold, which is the town center platform, wasnt only used for ceremonies. it was also used for exucutions in public, and to bring shame and humilation to the victim. as i looked out to the crowd i sptooed out my husband. he was dressed in indians clothes for seom reason. his eyes werent liek the rest of the town. he was telling me something and i knew that he didnt want me to reveal his identity to the towns people. the murmuering was very disturbing to me and i could hear them so clearly that it felt like i was having conversatoin which each one of them.

"But the point which drew all eyes, and as it were transfigured the wearer, so that both men and women.....The scarlet letter, so fantastically illuminated upon her bosom."

"They said that it meant "Able" : so strong was Hester Prynne, with a woman's strengths."

Even though the Scarlet Letter goes against the views of feminism by showing harsh punishments to women who commit adultery, High School students should read it because it shows that women can overcome their sins and not feel guilty about their mistakes for the years ahead of them.

many feminist might say that they are in search of freedom and equality. others say that feminism is a waste of time because in reality they believe they will never be equal to men. in the novel Scarlet Letter, Hester suffers for her actions and shows that she can overcome it and live a virtually normal life. but should this story be read in school even though it shows that women can overcome thier sins and not feel giult about them for the years to come.

"Pearl, looking at this bright wonder of a house, began to caper and dance, and impatiently required that the whole breadth of sunshine should be stripped off its front, and given her to play with."

In the novel The Scarkett Letter by Nathanial Hawthorne, Chillingworth is a minor charachter because he is just an obsatcle that gets in the way of Hesters life and is only placed in the story to be the antaganist and take revenge on Reverrend Dimesdale. Chillingworth is a round charachter because we know his charachter traits for example we know he sent his wife off to Boston for two years. He is also mysterious because he lies about his identity of being Hesters husand. In the novel he also chooses to take revenge on the man that commited adultrey with his wife, Hester. Chiling worth is a static characther because his motives throughout the novel remain the same in which he wants to take revenge on Dimmesdale.

this is morris betesh. class 203L

in the book Scarlet Letter, the protagonist, hester, shows signs of feminism by her actions. after comiting adultary she accepts her punishment and still takes care of her illegitamate child named Pearl. its understandable why the religious town of salem was treating her in such a terrible way at first, but it is unclear of why she should suffer for her actions her whole life and not even having a chance to redeem herself. it could have been that her commiting adultary was an act of feminsim in the case of divorce. in the event that a husband isnt present for a long period of time the wife has the right to get a legal divorce. this shows us that legalizing rights for women started a while back and the movement increases by the day. some men might say that women are taking away jobs from them and others might say that they are helping men with their household bills.

im not sure how long this is supposed to be so im gonna stop here.
